Breakaway Digital

My name is Damian Rintelmann, and I am the man behind this little diddy. I’m currently living splitting my time between Toledo, Oh and Baltimore, MD. You can find me spending with my wife and our two dogs.

I use this blog as a “lifestream” of sorts. To talk about ideas I have on innovation, business, strategy, social media and more. I might even throw in a post about hockey here and there.

I’ve been working with design and the Internet professionally for nearly 10 years. It originally started off as a hobby but quickly turned into a career. Since things are changing everyday, you’ll often find me reading blogs, design books or talking with others about the latest designs to stay up on what’s happening in the industry.(Most times this is really late at night, or early in the am.)

That is so true in hockey but also relates to great business leaders. The visionaries play where the business is going, not where it is right now. They are always thinking one step ahead. I want to be that type of business leader. Currently I am  VP, Digital Communications at Weber Shandwick. I am a part of the Weber Shandwick team focusing on strategy and innovation in the digital space. I take pride in the craftsmanship of my work and what I do for my clients. I’ve worked with many big brands like General Motors, Best Buy, Proctor and Gamble as well as some great smaller companies.

More About this site:

The name Breakaway Digital is just combining my love for hockey with my love for living my life online. So the rush of a nice breakaway is what inspired the name.
